To strengthen our technical department, we are looking for an experienced Welding Engineer (m/f/d) who combines welding expertise with a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and work preparation. Our company also works for the defence industry.
Your Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for welding engineering and provide technical support for our manufacturing processes
- Plan, monitor and optimise welding and manufacturing processes
- Create, review and maintain welding procedure specifications (WPS) and support procedure qualification tests
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, quality requirements and customer specifications
- Handle technical processing, sales support and fulfilment of customer orders and enquiries in close cooperation with the site manager
- Prepare work and plan production for current orders and projects
- Create and maintain work plans, bills of materials and manufacturing documentation
- Create and maintain items and technical master data in the ERP system
- Review and process technical drawings and manufacturing documentation
- Monitor deadlines and coordinate production orders, deliveries and projects
- Provide technical support to sales, purchasing and production
- Help continuously improve manufacturing workflows, quality and cost efficiency
Your Profile
- Degree in mechanical engineering, production engineering, manufacturing engineering or a comparable technical discipline
- International Welding Engineer (IWE) qualification or a comparable recognised welding engineering qualification
- Thorough knowledge of common welding processes and welding regulations
- Knowledge of DIN EN ISO 3834, DIN EN 1090, ISO 9606, ISO 15614, materials science, weld inspection and welding documentation
- Very good knowledge of metal and steel processing
- Experience in work preparation, production planning or production control is desirable
- Proficiency in working with technical drawings and CAD systems; knowledge of Autodesk Inventor is an advantage
- Experience with ERP systems and an understanding of bills of materials, work plans and technical master data
- Strong commitment to quality and an independent, structured and solution-oriented approach to work
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Very good written and spoken German (at least C1); evidence of proficiency is required
